Yesterday we had our first meeting for Spring 2010, and a big thank you to all who came!
Educational Excursions:
We covered a wide range of topics, and I've included a copy of our (rather long) agenda below this message. In regards to Educational Excursions, those present voted to visit the Honolulu Academy of Arts Archives & Library, and the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i. Now, we are in the process of arranging these excursions. :-)
Social Events:
For Social Events, members voted on a variety of options. One of those options was the First Friday Art Walk, which occurs every First Friday of the month in Chinatown. Therefore, without further ado, I present our first Social Event -- the February First Friday Art Walk:
When: Friday, February 5th @ 6 p.m.

Professional Development:
For Professional Development, we discussed two upcoming conferences. The first is the Association of Hawaiian Archivists, which will occur on Saturday, February 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The conference costs student members a low price of $25; student membership is $7.50. For those in the Introduction to Archives Management class, Dr. Wertheimer is offering extra credit to those students who attend the conference.
